Characteristics and application of hydraulic oil

hydraulic oil is used as an intermediate medium in the hydraulic transmission system to transfer and convert energy. At the same time, it also plays the role of lubrication, corrosion prevention, cooling, flushing and other parts in the hydraulic system. Its main performances are:

1 Proper viscosity, good viscosity temperature characteristics

viscosity is the first consideration when selecting hydraulic oil. The outer lip has the function of dust prevention. Under the same working pressure, the viscosity is too high, the motion resistance of hydraulic components increases, the temperature rises faster, the self-priming capacity of hydraulic pump decreases, and the pressure drop and power loss of pipeline increase; If the viscosity is too low, it will increase the volume loss of the hydraulic pump, increase the leakage in the components, make the oil film of the sliding parts thinner, and reduce the supporting capacity

2. Good lubricity (anti-wear)

a large number of moving parts of the hydraulic system need lubrication to prevent the wear of the relative moving surface, especially the system with high pressure has much higher requirements for the anti-wear of the hydraulic oil

3. Good oxidation resistance

hydraulic oil will also be oxidized in the process of use. The acidic substances produced by the oxidation of hydraulic oil will increase the corrosiveness to metals, and the sludge sediment will block the filter and small cracks, making the hydraulic system work abnormally. Therefore, good oxidation resistance is required

4. Good shear stability

as the hydraulic oil passes through the pump to improve the product quality and establish the brand valve orifice and gap, it will undergo severe shear action, resulting in the molecular fracture of some macromolecular polymers in the oil, such as tackifier, and become small molecules, reducing the viscosity. When the viscosity is reduced to a certain extent, the oil cannot be used, so it is required to have good shear resistance

5. Good rust and corrosion resistance

hydraulic oil will inevitably contact with water and air in the process of use, and the acidic substances produced after oxidation will rust and corrode the metal, affecting the normal work of the hydraulic system

6. Good demulsibility and hydrolytic stability

water and condensate mixed from different ways in the working process of hydraulic oil are affected by hydraulic pump and other components

7 Good foam resistance and air release

in the hydraulic oil tank, because the bubbles mixed in the oil circulate with the oil, it will not only reduce the pressure of the system, so as to better realize the man-machine running in during the operation process, and the lubrication conditions will deteriorate, but also produce differences. The purpose is to provide a more cost-effective packaging for medical devices with lighter weight and lower risk. In addition, the bubbles also increase the contact area between oil and air, It accelerates the oxidation of oil, so hydraulic oil is required to have good foam resistance and air release

8. Adaptability to sealing materials

due to the poor adaptability of hydraulic oil and sealing materials, the sealing materials will expand, soften or harden and lose sealing performance, so it is required that hydraulic oil and sealing materials can adapt to each other. (end)
